Frequently Asked Questions
What do I get as a member?
As a member of Contractor Success Hub, you become part of a community of other construction-related business owners. Get referrals from other contractors/tradespeople. Find people you need to help with your projects. Talk to colleagues about business issues you are facing.
You get access to business services, such as accounting, HR, and IT. You don’t need to worry about these things anymore since we can do them for you. Instead, focus on growing your business and making your customers happy.
You also get access to one-on-one advising from an experienced business executive. Our monthly meetings include helpful presentations you can apply to your business. Our speakers include attorneys, accountants, marketing experts, HR specialists, and more.
Who is likely to be in my peer group?
Peer group participation is optional, but we encourage it. Being part of a peer group gives you access to other business owners who face the same business and customer issues you face. It’s likely that someone in your group has already found a way to deal with the problem you’re facing. And you have likely already found a solution to the problem someone else just encountered.
Peer groups consist of other community members who are in complementary but not competing businesses. For instance, a group may consist of a GC, an flooring person, an HVAC person, a landscaper, and an architect. A group will never have two people in the same trade/discipline.
All peer group members must abide by strict confidentiality rules.
Is there a free trial?
We want you to be confident that you will receive a lot of value by becoming part of the community. Before becoming a member, we will discuss your business plans and challenges. We will help you understand the specific benefits membership will provide your company.
And we will invite you to attend a monthly meeting and talk to other members before joining so you can get a better understanding of the value you should receive.
What should I expect from the monthly meetings?
The monthly meetings last about 90 minutes to two hours, depending on the presentation. The meetings include time for networking so you can refer business to each other. They also include a presentation from an industry expert on topics that are relevant to small and midsize construction-related business. One month you may hear a presentation from an attorney about having good contracts. The next you may have a presentation from an HR specialist about how to attract and retain good employees. And the next you may have a presentation on how to get recurring business from previous customers.
We want all presentations to be valuable. Therefore, all presentations include time for discussion and Q&A. We want you to leave with content you can quickly apply to your business.
Some peer groups may choose to meet before or after the monthly meeting.
Am I expected to provide referrals as part of my membership?
No one is required to provide referrals. However, one of the most valuable pieces of your membership is being able to receive and provide referrals to other members.
Is There ‘Restricted Membership’ For The Networking Groups?
Groups are designed to help you grow your business. Therefore, each group will consist of complementary businesses, but not competitive ones. There may be multiple groups in a city, but each group will not have any companies that might compete with each other.
We will have one all-city meeting per year. That meeting will include members from all groups, and there may be competitors in that meeting. But that meeting will be limited to a special speaker.
Who from a company attends the meetings?
Contractor Success Hub is designed for owners of small and midsize construction-related businesses. In addition to business issues, we focus on the challenges of being a business owner and achieving a work/life balance. However, a company can designate a senior executive to participate in the place of the owner/CEO.
How do you know the members are reputable?
We do a thorough screening process for members. All members have to agree to standards of conduct, including strict confidentiality. We seek to build all groups on a foundation of trust. Only in an environment of trust can we really grow together.
Are we allowed to bring guests?
Guests are welcome to attend presentation sessions. Due to our devotion to confidentiality, guests are not allowed to attend peer group meetings. Peer group sessions give members an opportunity to talk very openly about their businesses and challenges. We do everything we can to protect information shared in peer groups and all other meetings.
Can I switch my membership level later?
Yes, of course. We want you to get the value you need. Our only stipulation is that all members must be looking to improve and grow their businesses. We don’t want to be a crutch to help you do things the way you have always done them; we want to help you grow and improve.
